Overview: Medium-sized business alleviates mailbox size restrictions by implementing an email archiving system. Description: A medium-sized organization aimed to permit corporate users to have unlimited mailbox size but were concerned with the maintenance of a large email server database. Ventucom researched and deployed a third-party email archiving solution which seamlessly integrated with their current Exchange messaging environment. The application stored archived mail in a file system structure requiring only inexpensive hard drive space and minimal maintenance. The archived messages and attachments were accessed seamlessly through the Outlook client and Outlook Web Access. By archiving messages by age and size specifications, email server databases could remain small, requiring less Exchange server maintenance and translating into better email server performance.
