Overview: Global not-for-profit improves network architecture with domain and email upgrade. Description: A not-for-profit foundation approached Ventucom with the need to improve network manageability, functionality and security through domain consolidation and upgrade. Ventucom performed a thorough site survey, working closely with IT management, to better understand their business needs. The foundation consisted of several offices spanning 5 countries using separate Microsoft NT 4.0 domains and Exchange 5.5 email servers. During the proof of concept phase, Ventucom replicated the current network environment and tested various upgrade scenarios. In order to attain a more manageable and productive global network, Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange 2000 were selected. With a thorough project plan in place, sites were systematically upgraded and tested. The result was a successful integration of domain and email architecture.
