Overview:
Mid-sized advertising firm reduces IT costs and improves performance by replacing Frame-Relay links with VPN solution.

Description:
A mid-sized advertising firm approached Ventucom with the need to reduce the overhead costs associated with expensive Frame-Relay lines to 8 remote sites across the Unites States.

The corporate environment consisted of 128Kbps inter-site links with all sites accessing the Internet via the New York headquarters’ T1. Ventucom worked closely with the company’s IT staff to design a cost-effective solution to fit their needs. After careful research and product analysis, Ventucom recommended a Cisco-based VPN solution. This hardware was ultimately chosen due to Cisco’s reliability, performance, and excellent support. Each site was equipped with a Cisco firewall/VPN device and a 1.5Mbps Internet connection. In all sites, redundancy was provided using ISDN backup to the corporate headquarters in New York.

To increase performance and achieve further redundancy, a second T1 line to the Internet was provisioned for the New York location. VPN tunnels utilizing high-level encryption were built from each remote site to redundant VPN devices at the main office.

Through careful planning and efficient deployment, Ventucom met the client’s budgetary and timeline requirements while providing improved performance and redundancy.

Benefits:
• High Return on Investment (ROI)
• Redundancy
• Improved performance
• Increased productivity
